The Teachers’ Day Grand Felicitation Ceremony “GURU VANDANA 2026 – Honoring the Guiding Lights of Our Society” organized by the Rotary Club of Kolkata Galaxy in association with other Rotary Clubs of R.I. District 3291 (RC Calcutta Elite, RC Behala, RC Belur, RC Bidhannagar, RC Calcutta Mayfair, RC Calcutta Samaritans, RC Calcutta Millennium) co-organised by Swarnym Foundation and powered by Teachers Association of Bengal (TAB), concluded with huge success and great enthusiasm on 06/09/2026 at Agrasain Bhawan, Liluah, Howrah.
The auditorium was filled with emotion, respect and gratitude as the teaching fraternity was given a standing ovation by the society.
100 Distinguished Headmasters, Headmistresses and Senior Teachers from different districts of West Bengal were felicitated for their outstanding, selfless and lifelong contribution in the field of education. Each of the awardees was honoured with a Memento, Certificate of Excellence, and Uttariya as a mark of respect.
The program was graced by Hon’ble Minister of State, Sri Umesh Roy, Government of West Bengal as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, the Hon’ble Minister lauded the role of Rotary Club of Kolkata Galaxy and Swarnym Foundation for organizing such a noble initiative to give due respect to the teachers. He said teachers are the real nation builders and the state government is committed to the welfare and empowerment of the teaching community.
The ceremony was also graced by many eminent personalities including District leaders of Rotary International District 3291, Presidents and Secretaries of different Rotary Clubs, prominent educationists, social workers, industrialists and community leaders.
More than 200+ educators, Rotarians, academicians, students and community leaders witnessed the grand celebration, making it one of the largest Teachers’ Day gatherings in Howrah-Kolkata region.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Arun Kumar Raj, President, Rotary Club of Kolkata Galaxy and Convenor of Guru Vandana 2026 said:

The event also featured cultural performances by Mrs. Dipa Das & Team, sharing of experiences by senior Headmasters, and a pledge to uphold the values of education.
